Home phone caught the call & noted it as SPAM on it's caller ID. Plus did not leave a message. I did not answer. This was on my landline.
I received a call about my electricity being shut off. They got me. Be careful everyone. I didn't realize it unto they said the minimum payment would not be enough and they wanted the full payment. I pray for these people who try to take advantage of others.
It’s from the National Education Association. I had no option of being a member, and I had no option of getting correspondence from the NEA and it’s affiliates.
The number on caller ID is spoofed to look like a real PEPCO number, however, it is scammers who claim they are about to cut off your power, and try to get you to call 1-800-539-6570 to pay.
Just received a phone call from someone saying that they were with the collections department of PEPCO. Said that my last payment was not showing in their system and they were going to cut of my electricity in about 30-45 minutes. That's funny....just balance my checkbook and PEPCO's payment cleared.
Scam using Pepco as bait. Trying to get money, or will shut off your electricity.. DO NOT ANSWER !!!!
This is not Pepco; the man told me that he was from Pepco disconnection service department and when I told him that we do not have Pepco, so I am not sure why he would be calling me. His response was "So, that you wife can know who I am when she is riding me" or something to that effect. Needless to say, I wish I could have come through the phone, but that is what you get with these assholes. DEFINITELY block this number and do not give them any of your information.

I answered and a man asked if I could hear him. I said "yes" and he hung up. I hope this wasn't set up so that if I said yes, I didn't agree to some kind payment to this bogus scammer.
