Claimed to be calling from social security legal department stating they were taking legal action against my social security account and I would receive jail time and monetary fine. I did not return the call. Received similar calls from another number stating they were calling from the IRS. Neither of these entities would CALL a person. If there really was an issue they would mail you a letter

They called and left a message so I called back. The message they left was the same as relayed by Hanna. A poor speaker of our lingo. Wanted my home address for confirmation. Said multiple bank accounts were opened in Texas and they did 10 million in fraud. I laughed. I said it wasn't me so go get those bad guys. Then he wanted the last 4 digits of my social. Told him I don't give out one digit of it to anyone. He kept trying and I kept refusing. Then he wanted to know my bank. I would not tell him and he was real adamant and kept trying again and again and again. I told him my bank wasn't in Texas, that's all he needed to know. I kept refusing to tell. Then he wanted to know where I worked and how I made money. I told him that was none of his business. Bam! He hung up on me. I laughed. But I can see how this could work and it could be used against a person. Get the last 4 digits and bank info and address and maybe pretty quick they can do some scams with your info or $. Just refuse to give out any info unless you called them or are physically there. Even then you should know exactly why that information is needed and how it will be used.

Claimed to be robot caller from social security legal department wanting to collect something with someone owning what number it called and it left a voicemail for. Claimed the government will be taking legal action and the receipent would receive jail time and monetary fine.
