Got unwanted call from 202-307-1000?
The caller called three times and claimed to be from the Department of Justice, asking for a specific person that we don't know. We suspected a scam, so just kept asking him questions. He finally hung up.
DEA Scam Call
Call comes up as "US Drug Enforcement Administration" and agent gives and ID #, gives my correct name (!) and says my license is in jeopardy for illegal narcotic prescribing. I said "shame on you! This is a SPAM call" and she hung up.
These folks won’t quit calling. It’s the Social Security / DEA scam.
I just got a message from this number trying the same scam, claiming to be from the DEA. I didn't call back and reported it to the DEA website.
Called about Dr. licensing. When I said the doctor would not take their call they became aggressive and threatened to "cancel my Dr's license"
Caller claimed a doctor has an expired license. I questioned her, because she said she was calling from DC. We are in Oregon. I said, "You are calling about a license for Oregon when you are in DC? I highly suspect this." She said, "I'm not going to sit here and defend my call." She gave me her number and said, "If you call it you might not get through for 2-3 hours." SPAM call.
They target physicians, claiming that their license is suspended because they have been involved in illegal narcotic prescription drugs and drug trafficking.
