I called Bank of America to activate a card and as soon as it started ringing this number (202-706-7992) started calling. My caller ID said that it was from Washington D.C.
Left this voicemail message. "The reason you have received this phone call from our department is to inform you that there's a legal enforcement filed on your social security number for fradulent activity so before this matter goes to the state courthouse and before you get arrested. if you have any questions call us back at 202.706.7622."
Caller said SSN linked to rented car found in Texas/Mexico border with drugs in it and caller knew name and address of callee. Said bank account will be frozen to go and get a Walmart card and put $ on it. Said not to tell anyone family of call or they could be arrested. And officer will be out tomorrow.
Threatening arrest if I don't call back because my SSN has been compromised.
calling saying my SS number has been fraudently used and I need to call them before I am arrested.
