BROOKS FIBER COMMUNICATIONS OF CONNECTICUT INC-CT
Got unwanted call from 203-642-1804?
Received a call from a con-man from claiming to be working for Computerworld. He does not - scam.
I got a call on Team at my work place from this number. I think all they wanted to know is confirm the name and phone number.
I believe they were trying to confirm my email address. Caller already had name and phone number. Broached conversation by trying to send me tech-related news to my email address. As soon as I said I was not interested and to please take my email number off their list, they hung-up; I'm assuming they got the confirmation and that was all that they needed to ruin my life forever ;)
Very odd. I got a call through Microsoft Teams app on computer and mobile phone app with this phone # that said it was "Dial by Number" or "Dial by Name". Since no one at work on Teams would call me without their name displaying, I figured it was spam trying to validate me as active recipient, so that it could spam me. I didn't even know this was possible; no Teams user I've asked has ever gotten spam this way, suggesting tech savvy criminals, which of course, the FTC and FBI will do absolutely nothing about, saying it's not their problem.
