Similar as the previous post, but as soon as they mentioned Federal Tax Situation I knew immediately it was a scam as we have NO Federal tax issues whatsoever. I hung up and blocked the number. We get so many scammers/spammers calls daily it's Unbelievable! Thank goodness for our Verizon service! It has a "high" block setting we use, for UNKNOWN and scam/robo calls, so I know NOT to answer these calls. I look up the numbers later, and sure enough they have been reported as scammers. I then add them to my Black list, and Blocking, which helps, but of course they ALWAYS call back using a slightly different number! WHEN WILL IT EVER STOP!??? It's sad that people refuse to answer their phones anymore because of this garbage!
someone called and said they were calling about my federal tax situation and asked if I could hear them and without even thinking I said yes and they instantly hung up so now I'm scared and don't know what to do because I don't know what I just gave permission for.
