Received an automated call on 04/25/19. I returned the call and a lady stated her name was Mrs. Stephens with Plan Services in regards to an old debt that had been paid. I did not verify and information and informed the caller if there is anything the company Capital one or HSBC needs they can contact me through mail. Do NOT give them any information nor verify information.
Same results as Mitchell. They are scammers that have acquired a list of old debts that were filed in court YEARS AGO, (which are a public record, by the way) hoping that they can get you to pay them. DON'T EVEN TALK TO THEM, because they DO have all your personal information, including your SSN, and just want to confirm the info they have to try to PROVE that they are legitimate & scare you into paying them.. They asked me about addresses & debts that I had over 10 years ago! And since they had been taken care of and I KNEW that I didn't have any CURRENT outstanding debts, I didn't cooperate & hung up on them. But even if do have outstanding debts, don't deal with them. They are NOT legitimate & are not acting on behalf of YOUR creditors. Besides, depending on the state, the statuary limits of collecting them has passed and you can't be made to pay them, anyway, EVEN from the legitimate companies you actually owe. AGAIN, don't even ANSWER THE CALL or RESPOND TO THE VOICEMAIL!!!!! THAT's NOT HOW YOUR LEGITIMATE CREDITORS DO BUSINESS!
