When the caller ID is a town it is usually a spoofed call. A person will call (a blocked call) back within several seconds. Robocalls are retrying in a few minutes, or day after day. It appears that large phone companies are obeying the FCC rules and stopping blocked calls from going through, so phone spoofers are resorting to using disconnected numbers at small phone companies. Small phone companies make 1 or 2 or $10 million on these calls from overseas, so we've gotten 10 calls from Quakertown, PA in the first week of the new year... all from disconnected numbers. We need to complain relentlessly to Federal senators; it won't stop until congress writes laws penalizing phone companies heavily for passing spoofed calls on to subscribers, and reaping millions of dollars. $50,000 per call won't do it, and they need to be reported or there isn't a fine. I'm thinking $1,000,000 per spoofed call might get the attention of smaller phone companies.
