Got a text message from 303-872-4058. A Background Scan Was Just Initiated 0n Your Name - See Details; http://job22scanning.cyou/156/3076705***. I've received various odd texts that I have been reporting as spam etc.
I just received a call from this number also, stating their name was "David Baker" with some law firm calling for a Chris Luciano (sorry, not my name). He said to call him back at phone # 877-448-2414 x358... This reads "scam" all over it...
It rings, you say hello, and nothing on other end. Has called almost every day.
Recorded call claim to be working on a case within the limits of my state. Cuts off when recording is to provide a case #. Asks to call back at 404.382.6759. When they don't get a response, they call from other numbers.
claims to be trying to collect on an account in bad standing. when I wait for an operator they cant remove me from their call list because they dont know who they called.
They said they were from an in state Law Firm and gave a Law Firm name and an attorney name matching one of the Law Partners owners showing online at the Law Firm website. The issue I noted immediately is the number they were calling from didn't match *** I have no legal issues nor ever have *** The person calling claimed to be an attorney and said I had to pay them $15,000 by credit card or go to court with them. I recorded the entire call. The same person called 5 times over 2 weeks and all calls were recorded. I called the Law Firm they said they were from with the advertised number off the internet which was different from the local one the person called from. That phone number the internet shows as spam or harassment. The actual Law Firm they said they were from and the number wasn't one of the Law Firm advertised. I called the Law Firm and spoke to the receptionist and she said it wasn't their number. So I played the a few of the phone recordings for her. She said it wasn't the voice of the Law Partner that the person was claiming to be. She had a another law partner speak with me and they listened to all the recordings and guaranteed I have no case from them etc. The actual owner that was the name of the person that was harassing me called and the voice was totally different. They asked if they could have a recording of the phone calls received and my phone log of it to have a time stamp. They said they would pursue legal action against this company because it was fraud etc and the fraud caller left 2 additional phone numbers on voicemail demanding payment. The actual real law firm that was having their name etc used in a fraud attempt said they would represent me in any future legal proceeding at a very reduced cost or possibly free and I actually have that in writing from the Law Firm with the Partners names and signatures.
