Got a call from 312-728-3032 as a verification for proving identity with annualcreditreport.com. Was provided a passcode to confirm on site and redirected to make report over phone as identity could not be verified.
This is the email sent to me. An attorney will always use your first and last name and this person is a scammer trying to get your Social Security Number and other information. I receive disability insurance due to a severe illness. The person on the other phone stated they were with the National Disability Security office and would help me file any disability notices I needed. I stated I already received disability and they hung up, I called the number back and they hung up on me again. While I may be smart to understand a scam or bad business what if they had reached someone elderly who wasn’t aware of someone who is cognitively challenged? This is horrible!
