caller asked if I was the person they were trying to call. She wanted to make an appointment and needed my birth date to make the appointment.. I asked who made the referral? She said because of the hippa law she could not tell me who made the referral. I told her if she couldn't tell me who made the referral, then I wasn't going to tell her my birth date. She said she could send it to my e-mail account. I told her that UF shands account was closed. She then said she would mail it to me, however, she did not ask for my address. Since I use to work in medical I knew the referral process was not part of the hippa law and was likely a scam.
Received a text stating, “Jimmy, Your giftcard is ready. Claim It Today -> www.bgvf.us Reply STOP to STOPâ€! I have no idea who it is, but 100% sure it’s a scam of some sort.
Received a call asking if I was family to Cameron Shell. Then said wrong number.

This is NOT a scam number. It's the University of Florida's Health center. If you have doctor's appointments or requested one this number will call you. Also, they may call for any health info from your doctor including prescriptions. Anyone reporting that this number is a scam is doing so fraudulently. UF HEALTH is part of Shands hospital in Gainesville Florida. I had to choose unknown for the type of call because an option of being a safe no scam number isn't available and should be.
