Lee Thompson is the name she is using. Called in stating that she is with the State of Texas BDM department and asking questions about when we are moving offices, how many people we have in the office and how many field employees we have. Originally called from (888) 306-3133 with a shitty connection. I told her about it and then she called back from (402) 243-5799. Dead giveaway. Tobias Nebraska showed up. I asked if she is with Texas, why is she calling from Nebraska and she hung up on me. Add both numbers to your black list.
I called the number back because I thought it was a call from my job and it just said the number isn't in service.
Called us saying he was with the California business bureau, when I asked why he was calling from a Nebraska number he didn't have an answer. Just info fishing
I got a call from this number 402 243 5799 they told me they work with a government agency secretary of state... they try with me... but i work all day with SOSTX so i make some questions about it... and "Tobias" looks like Indian accent he just hung off the call...
This is an old, stupid scam. They called in claiming to be from the BBB asking about our plans to move. First employee didn't know better but still didn't give them info. We are a cybersecurity company, we don't give out real info to anyone we don't know.
"Gene" called from 402-243-5799, said he was with the Washington (State) Economic Development Office, wanted to know if your business was planning to move. When I replied no, not for the past 6 years, "Gene" hung up on me.
An Asian woman called claiming to be from the State of Illinois Business. I asked her if she was a government agency and she answered yes. Then she hung up.
Our Ottawa (Ontario) office just got a call from this number. We have had a few of these calls, but this is the first one dumb enough to use a US number. I hung up. These are scam calls, looking for information about your business. Red flags: * They claim to be from non-existent business or economic development agencies. * The script always requests information on whether you are still planning to move. Don't bother trying to correct them. * If you press them for info on where they got this notion from, they will, at most, give you a vague answer about a prior conversation ("One of your employees told us"). * As soon as you pin them to specifics ("Who did you speak to?"), they hang up *immediately*. A reputable agency wouldn't be so rude. These scammers are not worth the effort. Just hang up.
Exact same thing was asked to me when he called. Tried calling back, no success. He was claiming to be some sort of Canadian Gov agency from what is sounded.
