Just received call 10:32 EST. Did not answer. Blocked #. No msg left. Been getting a rash of "robo" calls since April 2021. I have noticed a pattern of 2 calls/day. First usually in late morning (around 11am) & second in late afternoon or early evening (4pm - 7pm). Because I immediately "Block" any # I do not recognize, the 2nd call generally will always begin with same area code & 3 digit prefix with last 4 changed. Since my outgoing message states that I will only return calls from numbers I do not recognize if a voice message is left, I am confident that I am not blocking a valid caller. This said, if for some reason I think the calling number may potentially be valid & I can't find info online, I use a service called "Voice Mail Direct" (VMD) to check the number. If the number is a valid cellular number, VMD will connect my call directly to the voicemail of the cell number. However, if the number I entered is a landline or a VOIP number, VMD informs me of this & disconnects the call. A detail I have noticed is that, so far, almost every "spam" # that appears on my caller ID is made to look like a cellular number. On the off chance I really can't tell if the number is valid, and the VMD system states it is a LandLine, I will use the *67 "block my caller id" function to dial the number. Only once has a human answered & it was a sales call. All other times I have done this, an automated system informed me that "the number you are calling is not a valid number". Note that *67 (caller ID block function) does not work when you dial a 'toll free" number (800, 866, etc #s) & in most cases will not work on a VOIP # (which is why I will only check an unknown # if it is a LandLine).

Keeps calling every 5 or 10 minutes... never leaves a message. Eventually I blocked it.

Called three or four times in an afternoon, even up to the 9:00 hour. Pretending to be someone from The GA Department of Health wanting to do a survey.
