I am an Enrolled Agent. Please tell as many people as you can that the IRS will NEVER contact you by phone, bad (as in this number’s message about court and jail) or “good”(“this is the IRS and you are owed money..”). There are too many numbers and scammers to report, the only way to combat it is through that knowledge.

I almost did fall for this IRS SCAM! Jesus! Ty for posting!!! 408-692-4190 called me and said same thing quoted code 6331 chapter 30 section 17 saying I owed them 1974.00 and they were going to seize my property and freeze my bank account and arrest me. Auditing me 2011-2016 - the thing is I didn't file for 2016 yet. lol So there was my red flag. Then I heard another cell phone ringing in the background... y boss called me he refused to hold and threatened me and hung up. I told him I had to answer for my boss and clicked over andx he was gone. He had a very Indian / middle east accent like a gas station guy and he emended a answer right away or to have me picked up and taken to jail. What an awful call I was really freaked out. :( Dont fall for this or any other GOOGLE VOICE CALL!
