Received telling this an urgent matter, regarding something under investigation, I did not call back, I deleted the number.
Recieved a voice mail threatening me about legal action. No information about why, Did say putting a stop on credit card activity.
Received multiple calls from 419-718-5886. Message left on voicemail stated my ssn had been breached. I called the number and women answered stating I needed to verify my last 4 ssn, when I refused she then advised I needed to verify my address and and birthday. I refused and asked why I didn’t receive a letter? She stated they did send one (after she stated they didn’t have an address). I told her I wasn’t giving information. She told me that they had called actually about fraudulent checks being made on a closed bank account. (I’ve had the same bank since I was 16..... never have I had to close it, so caught her in the lie right there.) told her to have her lawyer call me when she threatened me with a lawsuit. She told me they would be seeing me in court. She hung up on me.
States they are going to suspend my social security number due to suspicious activity.
Other than a mortgage which I am current on and credit cards I pay off every month, I have no debts and am not behind on any debts. So it was a surprise to me when I received a voice message from 419-718-9082 that said "This is a call from... Revenue Group. This communication is from a debt collector. This is an attempt to collect a debt and any information obtained will be used for that purpose. Please contact us about an important business matter at 866-956-6283, again the number to call is 866-956-6283. Thank you for your assistance. Goodbye."
No message- and called early - as a confusion tactic to get you groggy. Police out there catching someone slightly speeding but can’t do anything about people coming through your phone to scam you. Gooooood job protecting .
