Got a call from "American Airlines" telling me they had two checks from me and was sending them back to me as soon as they had my name and address

Someone claiming to be "American Airlines Fraud Department" wanted me to call this number to confirm a purchase of airline tickets made on my credit card. There were so many red flags that I didn't bother calling. They cleverly called at 5 oclock in the morning hoping that someone would be to groggy to recognize an obvious scam.
