Received 2 calls in the same day, and they left a message about my SS # having been compromised, and to call them back. Of course I didn't call back.
The caller ( who's spam voice I have heard before) said i was subject to investigation of my income tax return and I must call the number.
I have received MULTIPLE calls - With voicemails left from this number. ALL claim that "Before they take legal action, they're giving me an opportunity to work with them." IRS SCAM Shows from Fremont California Seems someone in gov should be able to track number and arrest these people - Better yet, FINE them hugely ... SO we don't have to may tax dollars to their court cases. Government should be levying huge fines on people that make scam calls. Can't be that dificult to trace them.
I got the same robot call with the same message. I returned the call and asked for gov't id number. To demonstrate how cleaver they can be, the person i spoke with said her badge number was 967142 and her name was Julia James. When i informed her that SS would not call but would send a written letter, she disconnected the call. SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I got the standard robo-call saying my SS number was used for fraud and they were going to pursue legal judgments against me.
I got a robocall saying that something is being filed against my social security number, and that I should call the robot back at 510-578-3758. I'd heard that the social security office never calls but would send the problem in print.
