Got unwanted call from 518-303-2943?
This caller is a scam trying to get people to send money to them..has a program to look up peoples information (this is how they know your family members)...what ever he or she tells you BEWARE it is a scam !!!!!
Same story as the others have told. I caught on because I had had a similar call a couple of years ago from my supposed grandson. I figured out it was a scam, when I asked "grandson" how he liked Florida (a state he has never been to) and he said it was ok except for being in jail.
sad makes government has something to do with why can't they be stopped
Bandwidth.com is their phone supplier. Send an email to ticketing@bandwidth.com to complain. All their phone and web destinations go unanswered/voicemail
Same story here. Contact their supplier, Bandwidth.com Good luck with getting anyone there to answer the phone -- you'll have to create a ticket through their customer tech support line. No other extensions or menu choices lead to an actual operator. They have an online security compaint form, but it fails to Submit because "you didn't enter the Captcha properly" (because there is no Captcha). Crooks and thieves the whole lot. I also called back later and the answering machine says they are the "Internationsl Public Defender's Office" -- just exactly how does that work?
Scammer wanted $9,000 for relative's DUI. Fake. Phone number actually works -- call them up and waste their time. Oddly enough, when I used one of their own fake names, both my "grandchild" and the "attorney" were together. Original phone call just showed Caller ID as "restricted"
My grandma literally just got the broken nose call. 6-29-21
Caller (Charles Thompson) said our friend "Charles" was picked up for DWI, was in jail, was hit by another car driven by a woman who was 6 months pregnant and was taken to a local Kansas City hospital. Mr. Thompson said the original bail was $100,000 but he got it reduced to $9,000 and he kept saying "You need to get the cash and when you get the cash, call me back and I will tell you where to send it." We called our friend who answered the phone to tell us he was at home. Plus, Victor Sobel in New York, who was to be the recipient, died in 1984. Clearly a scam. Let people know about it and don't be another victim. We do not know how they connected our home phone to the name of our friend.
same happened to my mom
Claimed that Grandson was in an accident, broke his nose, had stitches etc. and to call lawyer at T#5183032943. Called hung up when pressed with questions about where girlfriends was, did he call his mom, etc.
