A person calling himself John Carpenter called an elderly woman from this number saying she had won $600,000 from the government. She was asked to send 1% of the amount to cover insurance and that the funds will be delivered within 24 hours from Washington DC. He also stated that he had a local office in Birmingham, AL. Luckily she knew it was a scam and did not give out any personal information.

A person calling himself John Carpenter is calling an elderly gentlemen from this number saying that he has won over 1 million dollars and a car. This gentleman has sent the money requested and each time it's only $1,000.00 more. He is instructed to send the money orders to Ronald Hodgdon 21 LaPaloma, Campbell, CA 95008 So very sad this man truly believes he's won. There's no talking him out of it.
