This is a Jamaican scammer claiming to be from Publishers clearing house. He attempted to scam my mom. This scammer is a massive douchebag for doing this, let alone around Christmas. This person preys on vulnerable people. The way this scam works is they want you to pay a fee (often giftcards) before you can collect the supposed "prize money", which in this case was 10 million and $5k a month for life. He must've looked up her phone number beforehand because he mentioned her personal information (old addresses) on the phone. He also said he would send her an affidavit in the mail that all "winners" have to sign before the prize patrol arrives. Publishers Clearing House NEVER calls you. They also never contact you beforehand to tell you that you've won. You only know you've won when the prize patrol comes knocking at your door.
If this asshole calls you and you wind up here after searching the number, I'm so sorry.
