They asked about updating our CenturyLink account to fiber service and I let them know I'd call them back about it. I wanted to do some research before telling them much of anything and when Google didn't bring up any info besides this page it's safe to say I won't be calling back after all.
As with most phone service resellers, caller begins with, "Are you responsible for your CenturyLink account," followed by an offer to upgrade fiber service, without any indication that caller is not from CenturyLink. Only upon asking if caller is with CenturyLink, does caller does admit no. Caller states that she is working for a middleman that "partners" with CenturyLink (every reseller "partners" with CenturyLink in a vague sense). Unfortunately I asked the caller if she thought this tactic was dishonest (it most certainly is) before asking which vendor she worked for. It went downhill from there, she said I clearly did not understand how things worked, elevating her voice and repeating her response every time I asked her if she thought this tactic was dishonest, before hanging up on me. Par for the course on unsolicited phone service resellers.
