Got a call from this number claiming to be Publishers Clearing House. George Fisher. When I called back I asked to verify it was Publishers Clearing House because it sounded like a bunch of BS to me and they hung up!! DONT FALL FOR IT!!!!
I live in FL and received 2 calls from a Wisconsin number-George Fisher claiming I had won 2.5 million from PCH; he also had other real information which I denied. He called again this morning at 9:00am wanting to know if I was ready to provide the payment information for the IRS, FDIC, BBD and Publishers Clearing House, I told him i was still sleeping. He said I would have to make a check or electronic transfer for each of these for $500 each a total of $2,500 before I could receive 2 1/2 million dollars next friday. He is to call again... FRAUD! He said it was a secret, however, we are notifying our local LEO authority.
So thankful for sites like this! All I had to do was punch in the phone number. My brother (when I told him) told me he contacted PCH and they said they will NEVER “call” a winner! They will either send a certified letter or drive up in their van with balloons and a check for you. Good t’know. Whew!
Got a call from David Meyers PCH, saying I had won a large sum of money and it would be delivered soon. He gave me is badge number 3561 and a conformation number 7507545403VA. His phone number was 608-999-6821. He wanted to know my bank, which I refused to give him. I told him it was a scam and he immediately hung up. 8/21/2020
Received a call on my landline about 2 hours ago from a David Myers (badge number 3561) claiming to be from Publishers Clearing House. He said my mom won a third place prize of $421,000 and that it would be awarded to her on May 29 at 11:30 a.m. He said someone would call back in 20 minutes with more information.... When no call came, I contacted my bank and PCH, who confirmed the call was not from them.
Received the same thing. His price went down to $2500! Tough times I guess. However, there was also a bogus IRS payment for W-2 processing and a payment for FDIC insurance. The FDIC, really?! I'm reporting this to the attorney general for Wisconsin, this is the phone number: 608-999-6821, David Meyers.
Received call on my landline this afternoon from a David Myers who said he was calling from Publisher's clearing house, that I had won a big prize and they wanted to deliver it Friday, would I be home? He had my old address, said this was from an old entry and that I should have received a letter which I had not. I asked him how much the check would be for and he said $21,000. Before giving my current address I asked for Publisher Clearing House number where I could confirm all this and he gave me this number, saying they would transfer me back to him. So bogus as I suspected as this number is not in NY as he said it was and not anywhere close to the real phone numbers for PCH.
Call from Publishers Clearing House? : “I’ve been trying to get through to you. We have a present for you and we need you to contact us by Friday for it to be issued. (Not verbatim)
Stating that they are placing liens on all of your property and sending you a summons because you are being sued they tell you the are investigators for attorneys but wont tell you what attorneys they work for tell you that they will be suing you and you will be responsible for attorney fees to the tune of $7500.00
