Twice in two days this number has called me and left a message with a phone number and claim number. According to the message there is a formal complaint about to be filed against me. Yeah right! Total scam.
Got 2 calls from them over the last 2 days, hard to understand what they want. Could be a debt collector, not sure. Looking for someone else, not me. All prerecorded. Blocked them, but they keep leaving a message on voice mail.
I recieved a call from this number saying they wanted to confirm my address and will be contacting my human resources department at work unless I call another number to discuss my case. No identification of what it's in regards to just a case.
Definitely a scam number. They called my elderly mother saying she had owed capital one credit care over $1600.00 and they will settle with her. They asked for $600 and then $400 and they got her at $200. She gave them her debit card over the phone. I am having them investigated.
Shows up as RUFFALONL 617-207-2036 Asked to speak to daughter (a minor). Claimed to be Simmons College in Boston.
Automated recording about some legal complaint etc etc. Recording had another number for me to call back. When called, a guy started insulting me and refuse to give me any information and said i owed money. Need to pay RIGHT NOW. Also stated that "i know how YOU people work sending over fake documentations". No idea what he was getting at, but didn't sound like anyone that was legit.
I have been getting a call from this telephone number every half hour.... I tell you there are legal documents that they need to go over with you.

Automated voice implying that there is some case in my name - hinting that it is a legal matter. Script is carefully worded to avoid language that violates FTC harassment or making a false claim. My lawyer advises me to ignore these calls and not to return a call. Caller may have a name and has searched for any phone number with a similar name. Legitimate lawsuit, debt collection, or legal action always makes contact in writing.
