When I picked up the phone, there wasn’t even anyone there yet- the phone then began to ring as if I had called THEM. Then a woman with an extremely thick Spanish/Hispanic accent picked up. With her accept being so thick, combined with extremely poor call quality (interference on line & audio kept cutting in & out). I did confirm my first name for her, but as soon as her next question was “for security purposes, we have the last 4 digits of your social security number as xxxx- is that correct?” I was done. Those WERE the correct numbers, but there were too many red flags thrown up. I’m not getting into any discussion with some shady woman calling from god-knows-where. It’s terrifying to know how easily our personal information is spread & used without our consent. Reporting this to the FTC.
