The phone number seems to be a real phone number for Google booking assistant, but a scammer spoofs their caller ID and pretends to be Google notifying you of a change to the phone number on your Google account.
They pretended to be google and were trying to take over my account. They sent me an email from a google domain trying to establish trust. My spidey sense went off and I didn’t comply.
Someone pretending to be a Google Employee had my number and email and tried to convince me to click popups saying I was in LA as if Google needs to do this step on their side. American male accent. Very clever trick. Be careful out there!
Received a call saying “detected an attempt to change your primary phone number on your account. “ also number shows up as Google but is clearly a scam as it’s Google assistant’s phone number.
Marked on my phone as from "Google", said detected attempt to change the "phone number on my account".
I got a call from 650-203-0000 saying they was google support and someone was try to get in my google account and need me to log in so they can block. Do not do it. they want you log in to get your information.
Sunday (3.30.25) this number called me. They were very concerned of my Coinbase password & wanted to help ME reset it. That's when I knew it was a scam. A password is EXTREMELY confidential! No *legit* business will EVER try to con you into giving them your PW. [They are very pushy & want to steal from you. A Coinbase account can have 100's of thousands of dollars, in them. Don't answer. Don't respond. Don't engage them.
