I just received a call from this number requesting for a donation for the local police department. I am in California. The call is coming from Alabama. I've politely advised the gentleman that we will do what we can when we receive the donation envelope from our local police department or organization and thanked him for the call without committing to the amount he quoted. Would an organization in Alabama make calls for a donation for an out-of-state organization? How would the local police department receive this funds?
