Got unwanted call from 669-234-1704?
When answered, was told I was being connected to my ATT Scheduled Webinar. Then call disconnected. I suspect a scam here.
This a scam call. Do not answer!!!!!!
Got a call 2x from +1 (669) 234-1704 indicating webex. Am not expecting a conference meeting today so i did not answer the 2nd call and i am not from US
Yes. Please at least have the courtesy to call within working hours. 6.02am was unfair to a night nurse who had just gotten into bed and was almost asleep. Enough.
I work in the Telecom industry, so I know how to deal with scam calls. I picked this one up and said "Hello?" and the guy, with a very heavy English/Indian accent asked me if I was (my first name) ______? I never acknowledged my name and just said "Hello" a second time. He asked again calling me by my first name, Hello, ______? I still did NOT acknowledge my name and asked him, Who are you with? He told me some fictitious company name with the word "Security" in the name, but I couldn't understand a word of his broken English and had him repeat it. I still couldn't understand him. I then asked why he was calling. He said "I want to share an article with you". I said I wasn't interested and hung up. Be smart folks. NEVER give them your name or acknowledge your name in ANY way, not even if they call you by your first or last! THEY ARE PHISHING!!! A couple of people on this thread said this is a number calling from Cisco WebEx. Think about it... If you did not initiate a WebEx conferencing session as the Host or you did not receive an email with a legitimate business link inviting you to join a WebEx call, then this number should not be cold calling you in the middle of the day. Keep in mind, Scammers and Phishers can use legitimate looking phone numbers to "mask" the number they are actually calling from in order for you to pick up and answer. Use common sense and simply DO NOT answer calls you are not expecting. Let it roll to voice mail. If it's legitimate, the caller will leave a voice message.
Legitimate call from Cisco Webex for a webex meeting
In a very "strange" accent~"Hello! This is AT&T needing to speak with ____, in regards to incident with your phone." I checked with ____ who denied initiating contact with AT&T. I explained we would return call. The caller could not confirm number on caller ID or alert me to the number they were using. Nonsense!
This is Cisco WebEx. This is one of the numbers that calls you when you are joining a WebEx conference call.
