I got one today from the above number it said the location was Sebastopol CA I ansered because we lost our house in the Wildfire and we are getting a lot of calls from people we dont normaly comunicate with, the person on the line tried to tell me they were calling from PGE I hung up
Wow, total scum! I'm staying with a relative, and normally don't answer the phone unless it's family, and this number was from a city I know have family, so I answered. There was that awkward silence and clicking, indicative of a telemarketer (their systems allow multiple numbers to be called, all are "on hold," then it connects IF you answer). The guy had a foreign accent, said he was from Pacific Gas & Electric and wanted to talk to me about my electric bill. I said, "Oh, you'll have to call back when the homeowner is home." He said, "Where is the homeowner? There's an emergency, I need to talk to the homeowner right away." I asked, "What's the emergency?" He said, "I can only tell that to the homeowner, but there's been an accident and I need to talk to the homeowner right now." I scoffed (because that's total BS to go from "I'm from PG&E and want to talk about your bill..." to "It's an emergency, there's been an accident," -- total BS. So I scoffed, "Yea, you're not gonna talk to the homeowner unless you tell me what the emergency is." And he promptly hung up on me. Of course. Total BS scammer. I called my relative to tell them about the call, and he said it was probably these calls he keeps getting trying to sell him solar panels
