First received a call at 6:32 am PST: CID was "nick", who spoke with a Jamaican accent. He clamed to be from the U.S. Claims Service informing me that I had won $660,000.00 in a contest from my Readers Digest.subscription which I cancelled 20 years ago. They addressed me my name, had my old email, my residential phone number, and address. He then described to me how in order to avoid taxes on my winnings, something about an off-shore account would be utilized? He then went into this confusing description of the need to re-register me in order for them to go ahead in shipping my winnings which could be in my hands by noon today, an delivered by UPS Pacel Service. He then tells me there will be a service fee of 0.1%. Which is just $66,000.00 which he wanted to know how I would like to make that payment in order to get my $660,000.00! Whoever this organization is, it is a bit unsettling that they had all this information from a Readers Digest subscription cancelled 20 years ago. I mentioned the caller called me from two different numbers as he would say he is going to get various things approved. (I think he was new and had to check with whoever knew how the scam worked and had all the answers. The caller from a different number sounded similar with a jamaican type dialect, but he spoke noticably faster. I also could hear an American speaking in the background. The a search of the number (707) 809-5209 shows the carrier is "01 Communications, Inc, out of Middleton. CA."
Called at 01.09 AM about a non-existent delivery due in a few hours. When pressed for a name he responded David.
The Caller-ID shows PRC. They call several times a day without leaving a msg. We do not answer any call from numbers we don’t recognize when they don’t leave a message
