I just wanted to add to the conversation for the sake of others receiving these scam calls. I also just received a call "supposedly" from CenterPoint Energy today 11/24/2021 @ 3:07PM and it was showing CenterPoint Energy's name and actual phone number: 713-659-2111. This is definitely a scam, although a more sophisticated scam than usual, because so many people use Centerpoint Energy and they are using an American sounding woman's automated voice and they are spoofing CenterPoint Energy's name and actual phone #. I am compulsive obsessive about paying our bills on time and I paid our bill the same day that our bill came out, so my first thought was SCAM. But, then I thought for a split second, could there be a chance that our power company didn't pay CenterPoint and then I thought "naaaaah, this is a scam." One of the big give aways is that they said that they were going to disconnect our service within 30-45 minutes. Really? They can't just pick just one particular time? Like ole Joe would say, "Come on man!" Anyway, I then typed in their number and saw that all of you are experiencing the same scam. So, this is definitely a scam. I'm about to call my Mom and other family members and warn them, because it looks like they are trying to hit every household. Just for the record, I actually wrote down the exact message that I received and this was it: "To inform you that your account is scheduled for an automatic disconnection in the next 30 to 45 minutes. If you wish to avoid disruption of services, please dial number 1 on your touch phone to speak with a live representative at our (there was a break in the connection at this point, but she might have said "direct"??) billings and collection department. Again, to speak with a live agent, please press number 1 on your touch phone. Goodbye." Hope this helps someone else out. Happy Thanksgiving everyone : )
Received a call from 713-659-2111 (caller ID showed Centerpoint ) which stated that my service was about to be cut off because my account was past due. SCAM CALL !!!!!! Can’t someone do something to stop this kind of thing??????
I received a call from "CenterPoint" on Saturday 11-20-21 giving me a case number and amount 498.56. We use CenterPoint through my company so I thought it could be that. But my home is through another provider. I was close to paying the bill, but got a bad vibe when he could not answer a few questions. Noise in the background sounded like a call center, he was calm and not pushy. Very cool and collected. I told him I was not sure where these charges would be from, he said he would connect me to another dept sounded like it transferred, rang again and disconnected. What is odd is the call came from Center Point, their number and caller ID came across my phone. They knew my address and cell number. Stick with your gut don't be naive. I am an intelligent person that almost got taken. I warn my elderly parent of this often, I almost paid it. It sounded so legit.
I received a call from 713-659-2111. The message stated that my service would be disconnected in 30 to 40 minutes. It told me to press 1 to be connected to a representative. Once on the line, I asked the "agent" about my service being interrupted and he told me to hold but the call hung up. The number comes back as a legit number but in Clute, TX. I have my bill on autopay so I know it is not past due. Getting tired of these bill pay scams.
Same here from 713-659-2111 .. after speech and wanting CC number,Guy said I owed 300 dollars ...I have never owed that much ever ...Long hold for Centerpoint to alert them, hope they care as much about this as they do the pipes in the ground they keep sending me junk about
I also got a call from Centerpoint- 713 659 2111, which is a legit number. I have a CREDIT on my account-so when they said they were cutting off my service I hung up. Called back later to confirm-28 minutes on hold...so did not follow up
Received a call from this number, CID Centerpoint Energy stating my power would be disconnected in 30-45 minutes. spoke with the agent, clearly struggling with English. Very frustrating as they also called our business. Tried to call the real Centerpoint and was told there was 90 minute hold to speak with an agent.
Call from "Centerpoint Energy" claiming my service was set to be turned off for non-payment. I literally just got the payment confirmation from my actual energy provider last week, so I knew it was untrue. The caller ID shows Centerpoint, so someone seems to be spoofing their number. Which is a shame, because some people might actually need contact from their service provider and they now have it blocked as spam.

They called me twice. Second time got a live person and told them I moved out of Houston last year and I hadn’t used centerpoint for years. I got a click. They hung up on me. As with all scam calls I put them on the block caller list of my iPhone and won’t be bothered by them again.
