"Cheryl Miller" called me telling me she needed to speak with my mother regarding a legal matter that she has a claim against her. She would not give me anymore information.

They tell me they're looking for my son about a legal issue, they also called my ex-wife (different last name) and my daughter (different last name) saying the same thing. If its a debt collector, they'd have my son's contact info and wouldn't need to call the rest of us.

I had a message left on my home phone, my cellphone AND a message left on my work answerphone, ALL saying a DISTANT relative had me listed as her 'point of contact'. The fact is that I haven't spoken to her in years and although she would know where I work, she doesn't have my 'new' home or cell numbers - so this debt company got my personal contact details from God knows where and proceeded to bombard me with messages. Anyone know of any recourse I may have?

I received a phone call from this number and was asked if I knew a few certain people that I had been put down as a referral. After hanging up I was uncomfortable and Googled them to find out it was a debt collector. I don't like being tricked into information but did not know the people they were asking about but I believe that is poor business.
