BEWARE!! Calls from this phone number claim to be calling to set you up on a student loan forgiveness program. I USUALLY DON'T POST THIS TYPE OF THING, BUT DO NOT TRUST CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER. They have called me multiple times over the past few months, and if on the off chance I answer the call, they try to tell me that I am eligible for student loan forgiveness. I took the last call to see how this conversation, which I suspected was a scam, would go. Once they have your attention, they will ask a few (I was asked 4) "screener questions." Then they will congratulate you that you have met the criteria to qualify for student loan forgiveness and ask if you are ok with being put on a brief hold. At this point, they will put you on hold- I am guessing this is the time that they search for any more information they may have about you to convince you that they are legit. After being told the lines were busy "and please just hold on for another moment" three times, I asked if this was in regards to the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. They said yes. When I told them that I know about the details of the program and stated that I am not qualified, they assured me that I was incorrect. This exchange went back and forth for a little bit, where they were pushy and tried to convince me that qualification was based on household size and income. I asked why that information wasn't part of their screening questions. This is the point where they hung up on me. This is obviously a scam. I advise you block the number once you realize what type of call it is - though, I'm sorry to say, they will continue to call from other phone numbers as well.
