Says he is from debt collections, and asks for personal info. Scam like !!
Yup. A scam to seniors regarding subscription to New Yorker magazine. I answered the first call, realized something was fishy, ignored their second and third calls, and then looked up the number on google. Sure enough, it's bogus.
Same as above; purportedly the New Yorker magazine saying I should have been charged a senior rate. I'm not a senior...
My husband received a call from this number. The first thing the person said was that he was calling from the New Yorker magazine and was my husband receiving his magazine regularly? When he said yes, the person said the most recent bill was in error and that he should have been charged at the senior rate. Then he said his account manager would call back in two minutes. In the meantime, I reminded my husband that he does not actually get the New Yorker, but I do and my last name is different from my husband's name. When the person called back, he told her that he doesn't actually get the magazine and she hung up. The other number was 313-849-9906. Obviously targeting seniors.
