Called claiming to be AT&T and wanted to run a “test” on my phone to upgrade my service.
It has been over a year and counting receiving calls from this number 800 288 5276. I've tried to explain to them that I'm not the person they are calling and to remove my number from their call list, but this doesn't seem to matter, they promise they will remove my number but they keep calling, also I've reminded them that I'm on the federal do not call list.
Not sure what they want. My credit card had someone around the same time had someone asking for a code.
Claimed to be from Directv. Said if I have been a customer for over two years, Directv could lower my costs. Wanted to know my billing number. I said she should have it being that they called me. Said not from billing office therefore did not have that information. I said she should be able to look it up by my phone number. She had that wanted to know my 4 digit security number. I said I was uncomfortable giving that information and for pricing it was wasn't necessary. She said I could call Directv on my own to get pricing. She gave me 800-288-5000 which is not correct.
If you call 800-288-2020 without dialing a 1 first, you could get sent to this Scam line, pretending to be AT&T / DirecTV support. Don't give them any Credit or Debit info, They will ask for it stating its needed for validation of your account... This is NOT AT&T or DIRECTV.
