Same old recording I've heard hundreds of times; no substance, just fluff and trying to get some unsuspecting person to give them their card number! Only difference is that it used to be "Rachel", but now is "Olivia". blah, blah
said i have a debt on a card that has been closed for years. I called the company of the car BestBuy CITIBank and they said I do not ow them anything
This is a legit call. I applied for an NRA credit card a few days ago (online) after receiving an offer from them in the mail. However after some research this company also does credit cards for Overstock.com and several other companies. Anyway they said there was "a flag on my account" because I had reported a credit card stolen about a year ago (true!) and they just needed to ask me some questions to confirm my identity. In multiple choice form I had to supply the answer for the color of my car, my height (they said this info was from my drivers license) and conform the name of someone out of a list of three people. I actually did not recognize any of those names but at least I knew my height, ha ha. Anyway that was it, very professional. If you recently applied for a credit card it's OK to call them back. If you did not recently apply you better lock your bank accounts down because someone may be trying to apply for cards in you name.
