Got a scam email from these fraudsters, listing this number. It is the second variant of the same story, with a bit of rewording and overall poor composition.
was sent an email about an automatic $770 charge for security software on my computer, called the number to refund & they couldn't specify what my information, what the software was. They immediately asked me to download software so they could remote control my computer, which is how I immediately knew something was off.
Same as the calls mentioned above, the beginning was cut off then stated to avoid disconnection call 800-619-3250, thank you for using Georgia Power making it appear to be from my electric provider. The caller ID showed Unknown Caller, however when opening the call the phone number listed is 800-811-9577.

P.S. I reported both #s to Georgia Power and the CSR said they are calling EVERYBODY with these exact same recorded cutoff threats, so they do NOT have info about my account or payments. She said she had already had 11 previous calls just today about this scam!
Call pretending to be from Georgia Power and threatening power shutoff unless you pay money.
Using GA Power corporation name. GA Power should do something about it--including posting something on their website. Corporations need to stand for consumers and against scammers.
