I had a similar experience. Errors appeared on my PC and I called the contact number. They claimed they were USA-PC and got into my PC and displayed their number. They wanted to charge me $399 for a 3 year contract. I tried to pay them. But my bank says the payment never went through. It would have been to USA-PC. I talked to USA-PC today and they had no record on any contact with me. I got a call on 8/30 claiming they were USA-PC. I wanted to request a refund of $423.95. They modified my refund number and said that $4233,95 would go into my bank account. That amount never went in. They accessed my bank account information and made it look like the money went in. Then they called me to get me to withdraw money and get some gift cards. This is a common scammer practice. They play victim and claim their job is in jeopardy if we can't resolve things. I had been victimized by a similar scam last year and lost a lot of money. This time I was suspicious but I did send them $1,500 in gift cards. Then I stopped to cut my losses in case is was a scam. Thinking might be real I contacted USA-PC today to try to get my money back. They told me they had nothing to do with me, that I was being scammed. I called 800-660-0516 today and they answered claiming they were microsoft. They are crooks and need to be apprehended.

I was on line when my computer froze. A large window appeared stating from Windows and Micro Soft that my internet ip address was hacked into, a trogon horse was being released into my software. They received a notice this was happening and immediately contacted me. Yes I thought it was real. I have windows 8 and it is no longer support so I believed what I was told...basically my ip address needed to be protected. I'm a smart individual and yet I bought this bull shit hook, line and sinker. I didn't give them permission to have access to my information and yet they were in. It has been so laborious to follow all protocols for cleaning this mess up. It can be done and requires a dog on a bone attitude. They are currently being investigated.

Same as above. They downloaded malware then held my senior endangered adult husband's computer hostage. They are trying to steal $1400.00 from us. These horrible people should be put in jail!

Got a virus on my screen told me to call Microsoft. I call this number. Woman claimed to be Microsoft. Tried charging me between 300-500$ to resolve it. They'd taken control of my computer. After hanging up on them, they continued to access my system. I had to unplug the network cable.
