Live voice call from 800 number that I don't recognize. Surprisingly, the caller had no discernable accent. I didn't intend to answer, so I remained silent until I hung up. Hopefully this was interpreted as a non-working phone number.
JCP&L will not call or email to demand immediate payment or threaten an imminent shutoff of electric service. JCP&L will not demand payment via pre-paid debit cards. These JCP&L scams have thus far been reported by businesses. It would not be a stretch for residents to be targeted with similar scams pertaining to their home electric service.
Said they were JCPL and would give a 15% discount if no late payments within the last three months. Press one now, this is your last opportunity!!!
This number called me and when I answered and said hello they hung up.
was a recorded call. stated from DHL. then continued in Chinese. I hung up.
