At least 16 consumers from New Jersey, Utah, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, and 10 other states reported phone number 800-699-8488 to the Federal Trade Commission. 56% of the complaints reported call or text message to be a robocall or recorded message. The last complaint was on April 13, 2021.
I received a phone call and the caller ID had the number 800 699-8488. There was no name on the caller id. This is a spoofed caller ID number because this same company has called me numerous times with different numbers. There is never a name associated with the fake caller id numbers. There was a recording that stated that due to my excellent credit card history, they could reduce the rate on my credit cards. (I do not have any credit cards so this is a lie). This call was made to my cell phone which has been on the Do Not Call List for approximately a year. When I pressed the number option to get a live person, I told the operator that I am on the Do Not Call list. The person then responded that I called them. When I asked where their company is located, they immediately hung the phone up.
