got the same call- for "non payment"--- wasted 30 minutes before realizing its probably a scam!!!!

Got a call from a local number stating that the technician was being dispatched to disconnect our electrical service, we are a business I questioned it and they gave me this 800# to call 800-741-3357 opt 4 billing. they stated that they installed a new meter, and a deposit had to be paid and it was refundable, when I asked the amount they told me 3000.00 ! I said you are not First Energy, but you are fraudulant and they disconnected the line.

Got a call saying my Con Ed account was to be disconnected within a half hour. I Was told to call this number and I did. I became suspicious when they asked me for more information, name, account number, address, etc. So I discontinued the call. This has to be a scam.

Got a call from another number asking me to call this number 1-800-741-3357 because Con Edison was going to cut off my electricity in 30 - 45 minutes. I did not call the number, they kept on calling back asking me to call this 'scam' number. The electricity is still on by the way :) .
