At least 6 consumers from California, Arizona, Virginia reported phone number 800-808-1345 to the Federal Trade Commission. 100% of the complaints reported call or text message to be a robocall or recorded message. The last complaint was on November 25, 2020.
I received a voicemail stating that the underwriting department from My Discover Card was reaching out to lower my interest rate down to 1% due to my good payment history. Upon calling the number I was Greeted with, "underwriting department this is, (NAME OF AGENT), your call is being recorded, who am I speaking with?" This all seemed super vague so I started asking if they are affiliated with Discover. I was told no, they are a company called Meredian https://meredian.com/ they are claiming they can help lower your interest rate, not just with discover, but over 2000 issuers! LOL Ask for the DNC and DO NOT PROVIDE ANY INFO, as they are not affiliated with any credit card issuers directly, and they employ shady tricks trying to make you think that they are the Discover Underwriting Department so you will give them your account info.
