Rec'd a call, claiming they were calling me since I'm a customer of either Duke or Dominion Power. Indicated that they (implying, but not quite stating, that it would be my Power company) would be coming by. (It was pretty clear she was reading from a script... with unusually long pauses after each of my answers/questions.) After pressing, I learned that they were with Avolta Power. And, when I tried to confirm that it was REALLY a sales call, they hung up.
Call from this number, said Jackson SC but I wasn’t able to answer.
Very rude, take it or leave it attitude that may have worked with an older individual as a scare tactic about representing original car manufacturer warranty. however after asking a few questions and getting some red flags along with the local number, I decided to terminate the call and report. Scary as to how much information these people can get ahold of. Please do not fall victim to this scam.
Caller, with an assumed New York/Jersey accent, alleges she is an underwriter for Toyota. When I asked more questions and then asked what she was selling, she got extremely rude with me stating, "Who said I was selling anything?", taking on a nasty attitude. I hung up on the b*tch.
