I did not answer but the voicemail was an automated message asking if I wish to accept the call. When the call popped up on my phone it said it was from “Toddrdjail” which is a prison in Ventura County.

Called me and told me that my phone had a security breach. The had me down load a program, that luckily it didn't down load. they told me that my information was being used in Russia and Nigeria. I kinda believed them at first because my identity was stolen not to long ago and I have been having trouble with my iPhone even with security and virus protection on it. This is the last iPhone I will get also, I never had a bit of trouble with my android phone. the number they called me from was 805-420-2717 person I spoke with was Alice Watson

I had the same experience as others. The call appeared to come from Apple Inc, but the return phone number the caller gave me was 805-420-2717. He said my Apple ID had been compromised and hackers could be getting access to my bank account or personal information. He asked me to go to a website so he could run a report of what data had been compromised and then secure my account. It was not an apple.com domain so definitely seemed suspicious. He said he would give me "legal documents" to prove he was with Apple after we did all of this. He had an Indian accent and said his name was Sam Watson with badge number AP1820 at a Level 3 position. I called Apple and they said they do no make outbound calls to customers unless specifically requested through an online form.

A man by the alleged name of Ethan Parker claiming to be from Apple! My caller I.D. Displayed he was calling from Apple (1-800-MY-APPLE)! He told me the Apple server dialed me because of unusual activity. Someone was trying to log in from Russia and Nigeria! I asked for his Apple Employee I.D. &/Or Badge number. Fraudulent Badge #PC029462. Before I realized it was a SCAM because it looked like the call was coming from Apple! I was surprised and revealed I had forgotten my Apple login. Ethan offered to wait so he could walk me through changing my login info & I requested his call back number! Thank goodness! I could see how someone could easily fall for this one!!!

Same experience - call apparently from Apple (I assume a faked callerID - something Verizon could and should prohibit) and when I asked for a number to call back I was given this same one 805-420-2717 I did not call back.

Original call came masked as a call from Apple. Heavy foreign accent speaker claimed my Apple account had been hacked. Said it was a fraud alert. Wanted me to drive home to access computer device. When I told him I was driving and asked for a call back number, he gave his name as "Jim Brown," and ask me to specifically ask for him using PC-021998, and call back on (805) 420-2717. I got home and checked with my account that is signed up to Apple Pay. There was no activity on that account. I then search on-line for the number for Apple Care and called. They checked and there was no activity on the Apple account.
