I answered because I was expecting a call from a tow truck service. He called me by my first name. Then began offering to come out the next day to check my roof for damage. They would be in my area. I told him I have a new roof. He said thank you and I hung up. I blocked the number. I'll probably be inundated now with solicitation calls.
This caller called my home referencing my nickname that is not on any public documents nor am I listed on our home phone as a bill payer or resident, it is in my husbands name. They wanted to do an inspection on my home for storm damage - WHAT STORM? I repeated said no thank you and they continued to interrupt me with Maam, MaaM, MaaM continually until I finally hung up and left my phone off the hook. The offered me two times to come out to my home, either 9 am or 5 pm, on the next business day, which was Monday. They called me on a Saturday. Very shady.

Same experience, asking to give a free estimate for my roof and when they could come out...I had to say NO NO NO and he kept talking... so I just hung up (The mistake was answering, because I received a second call from a different number for the same thing)
