Received Text Message Tuesday 06/18/2019 from # 20992 reading ECC: Welcome. Get 50% discount on your DIRECTTV Account. Promo Code : EBAY. Call at 844-434-0125 Msg&data rates may apply. Recurring Msg. Help4help. STOP2end. I didnt think anything I have been selling on Ebay since 2005. When I called they said to get 1/2 off my bill I need to pay for 10 months in advance $350 and because this is sponsored by Ebay they are requesting being paid by an ebay gift card. With your prepayment Direct TV will be mailing you a $100 Visa Gift Card then they said if Paid upfront same day will give you and additional $120 Visa Gift Card. I thought nothing strange with Direct TV offering Visa Gift Cards when I Initially signed up with Direct TV they mailed me 2 $100 Visa Gift Cards as a Sign Up Bonus and I got and used them. I then receive an email from Direct TV changing my plan immediately after my call because they also said for these 3 years I will get Free HBO Showtime and some sports channel. Right then and there I didnt even second guess this being a Scam. I called by 7pm they took the ebay gift card info and next day 06/20/2019 I get another Text Message from # 205-537-0234 reading Dear Chapman, We regret to inform you that the EBAY card that you bought of $350 has a transnational error. Kindly call the Billing department ASAP at 1-844-434-0126 to resolve the problem Reguards, DIRECTTV & AT&T. With that I call Immediately they stated Walgreens late the day you paid lost there contract to sell Ebay gift cards and please get an additional $350 Ebay Gift Card from another store and on Saturday FedEx will deliver you a $350 check in your name for your money back on first gift card along with the 2 Visa Gift Cards One for $100 and One for $120. I called Walgreens Corporate Office which stated they lost their reload of the Ebay Gift Card but maybe a problem with card i bought. So now go to CVS get $350 Ebay Gift Card call it in they said I would see FedEx on Saturday 06/22/2019. No FedEx showed I called back that afternoon they said a handful of peoples FedEx didnt show and please call back Monday 06/24/2019. I called Monday Morning was told they were working on problem and would hear from them shortly. Then a little later Monday 06/24/2019 I receive another Text Message from # 205-576-5368 reading Dear Chapman, Your refund of $1200 been approved and dispatched that you will recieve today, when you pay pending $700 payment by getting a new Ebay card today. Kindly call the Billing Department at 1-844-434-0126 ext 772 Reguards, DIRECTTV & AT&T with that I call Immediately and they tell me will lose my $700 I already Paid by Ebay Gift Cards if I dont get another Ebay gift card for $700. Both times I told them I dint have the money they suggested a credit card or borrow the money because I will be getting the money back right away. At this point I realize I was scammed I called Direct TV and they said they have No promotional offers with Ebay. Below is the email I received immediately after first call making me believe not a scam the account number on email for Direct TV is my account. Didnt think a scam also because they gave me HBO and Showtime on my TV immediately also.

50% off your directv bill - I don't have directv so called and if you can get someone on the line that fast without going through the typical prompts then it is a scam. They tried to look up my info but it was BS, had fun with it then hung up and now reporting the number

Posed as Direct TV and wanted $480 upfront. I did not pay them and thought the deal was too good to be true.

This may caller may present themselves as being from AT&T to help you lower your current bill. IT IS A SCAM - DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS CALLER AND DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR INFORMATION. When I begin to question the caller the bluntly hung up the phone. When I ask are you from AT&T they lied and said they were, but when but they could not tell me how much my monthly bill was. When I attempted to call back they would no longer answer the phone. BLOCK THIS NUMBER!!

They are posing as direct tv just took me for $360.00
