08/08/2021 - 1:41 PM MST My Google Assistant screened this call, and the text and audio from this call was; "Salt Lake City to confirm this appointment press one. To connect with the office front desk please press zero"... Upon seeing this, I answered and pressed 1. The initial message was repeated, and I then hung up. However, it never said who was calling. I did a Google search, and found no results that tied this number to a company or person, just a few sites about identifying the number including this website. I'm fairly certain that this was a scam call of some sort, but what kind I have no idea...
I received a call and voicemail from 844-858-3759 @2:42pm CST: "To connect with the office front desk please press zero sorry I did not recognize your input to confirm this appointment press one to connect with the office front desk please press zero to replay this reminder press nine..."
Left a message about confirming an appointment but it was only a partial message. Started with “please confirm...”
Left a message about confirming an appointment but didn’t say what the appointment was. Definitely some sort of scam.
Leave partial message. Makes no sense. Blocked number. Still gets through.
On 1/30/19, my laptop screen showed a warning of trouble. I called this number which was on the screen and was on the phone with Jerry Wilson (? had a strong foreign accent) with Microsoft for over 2 hours while he said he was deleting viruses, ads, etc. He asked a lot of questions about personal info and of credit cards, including 3-digit number on the back. Even took control of my printer to scan front and back of my drivers license. He said my cell phone had problems of some kind, and fixed those. Eventually he transferred me to a supervisor who informed me of fraudulent charges on 2 of my credit cards. I then called in all three of my credit cards to find a total of $1400 in charges had been made that morning. The cards were canceled and I cut them up. Now it's too late, of course, but I am concerned about the whole deal. The good thing is that I didn't pay anything.
