This lady started out by telling me that I knew a certain hispanic female. I replied I did not. She then wanted the last four of my ss #. I said you tell me. She had it wrong. She then went on to tell me that I lived in Cedar Hill Texas. Again I said nope never have. She then told me I had to have lived in Cedar Hill texas. I told her to get off my damn phone, do not call me with this nonsense any more and I was reporting the number to the attorney generals office. Nerve for sure.
Called to say I was the contact info for someone I've never heard of before, who's apparently wanted by the law. Lol
Called 2 family members and me using local telephone numbers, but leaving this 855 number. Anytime a bill collector threatens warrants, arrests, etc it is a scam. Collectors are bound by the FTC and FDCPA to disclose who they are and what they are doing, and can't make threats of warrants or arrests in debt collection.
They tell you that they are going to deliver a warrant for your arrest to your place of work due to an outstanding debt and that the local sheriff will come to pick you up
Call claiming legal issue with limited time to call back or forfeit legal right. Did not offer company name or which juridistiction or court they represent. A legit legal firm or court house would have a registered phone number and notice sent by mail.
