After checking my future retirement,I get a automated phone the next day from that #. Said there was suspicious activity on this Odd how they called the next day. Hung up.
Said my social security number was being suspended immediately due to fraudulent activity.
Robotic voice message received allegedly from Microsoft (877-287-9030) via internet alerting me of possible computer virus while attempting to access web site. Internet was immediately frozen preventing access tp both my internet and Windows operating systems. Robotic voice demanded I contact Microsoft support to free up my internet account by calling 855-287-9030. Robotic voice stated the alleged compute virus served as threat to both my Window operating system and theft of personal data including credit card accounts, on line baking and the like. Voice further stated if I failed to contact them at 855-287-9030 or made attempt to free-up my system by any other means that they would report my computer IP address to appropriate officials at which time I would be denied assess to future computer access by Microsoft. In rebuttal, I queried ‘System Restore†on my computer in order to ‘reset and restore all my system programs and filesâ€. Of importance, it should be noted that the presumed Microsoft Support message originated from a ‘Scammer’ pretending to represent Microsoft. Telephone contact with Microsoft confirmed my suspensions that the robotic internet message was ‘fake and from a criminal computer scammer’.
