CyberSecurity Professional here - I made it through the call and they took my email and phone number and attempted to do a password reset with my email (likely to gain control of my email). They (not really they) sent a 6 digit code to my cell phone number (the code actually came from my email provider and not "they"). After they gained access to my fake email account, they began by creating a rule to auto-delete sent emails and then started sending emails to every person in my contacts. These emails included malicious attachments and then eventually started asking recipients to have money wired to me.
Got a call from this number saying I was eligible for the cares act. I normally don't fall for this stuff, but I had been getting calls from Great Lakes student loan company and thought this was related. They got my phone number and dob....I feel so stupid.
I got an email from a Cullin I don’t know, said I had a student load that can qualify me for a stimulus, I don’t have student loan, haven’t applied for them either cause I work full time. Don’t call that number without making sure it’s not a scam!
Email saying my student loan can qualify me for a stimulus check. I'm 56. And don't have student loans. Barely made it through high school. Ha.
