Scammers are using the First Tech 855-855-8805 number to spoof caller ID First, I got a text from some random six-digit number asking me to verify some charges. Then I got a phone call from this number (spoofed ID) that told me there was fraudulent activity on the card ending in ****. They then asked me to verify me by giving them my login ID to the First Tech website. At this point, I knew it was a scam. I called the number at the back of my card, and the fraud department there said if they call, they don't ask to confirm anything. They request information only if I call them. Oh, and they didn't call me, of course. The scammer was very adamant that I look up the phone number he called from to verify it was legit. A sophisticated attempt, but unsuccessful. It does bother me that the scammers had the last four digits of my CC, so I guess I need to get a new one.
